National Catholic Youth Conference
Sister Fidelis Marie Lanowich, OSB on 02/12/2018
On November 16-19th Sr. Sarah Elizabeth and I went to the National Catholic Youth Conference with the Archdiocese of Omaha. This conference is held every two years and there are over 20,000 youth who attend from all over the United States. NCYC this year was in Indianapolis and the Archdiocese of Omaha took six buses of youth.
During the conference there are two locations the youth meet in, a stadium and a convention center. In the morning and the evening at the stadium they have prayer, entertainment, and a keynote speaker. Then throughout the day in the convention center there are different talks that you can select to attend. The speakers give talks on all types of topics. Also, in the convention center they have over 100 booths with different religious communities, speakers, music, clothing, plus an indoor rock climbing wall, service projects, and other activities.
It is very uplifting and encouraging to see how many youth are seeking the Lord. This conference is a wonderful way to experience how large the Catholic Church is in the United States with youth attending even from Alaska and Hawaii! I am grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of the National Catholic Youth Conference.
